An emotional season finale for Grey’s Anatomy (11.15 million, 3.9) improved 11 percent from the previous week, helping lead-out Scandal (7.5 million, 2.4) post a dramatic 26 percent improvement — boding well for the growth of the series as it readies for its second season.
On ABC, Scandal continued to surged, rising 8 percent from last week to 6.78 million and a 2.1.
ABC’s Scandal broke solidly on Thursday night, scoring a 2.1 demo rating in its debut. That’s down just a tenth from what Private Practice last delivered in the 10 o’clock spot, while its total viewership (7.5 million) marks the best retention (91%) out of Grey’sin three years — and the best audience retention ever for a non-crossover episode.
